How notary public licenses move between states

No license is valid nationwide: the board in the state you move to decides whether it accepts yours. Across the 49 states and DC we cover, the routes boards publish for the main notary public license are military service members and spouses (3), other route (1), license by endorsement (1), reciprocity agreements (1) and universal license recognition (1). Nevada and New Hampshire list the states whose residents may apply as nonresidents; that is not reciprocity, and they are not counted as accepting other states' licenses. What each route means.
