- What the board says

- Conditions
- Nurses moving to Iowa from another compact state may keep working on their active multistate license while the Iowa license is pending; under NLC rule 402(2) they must apply within 60 days of the move.6
- Fee
- $1695
- Route
- Temporary license or permit
- What the board says
- Endorsement applicants who have filed everything except the school transcript may request a temporary license valid up to 30 days; it converts to a permanent license when the transcript arrives.2
- Route
- Interstate compact privilege
- What the board says
- Iowa is a Nurse Licensure Compact member: nurses holding an active multistate license from another party state need no Iowa license (they are subject to Iowa law and board jurisdiction).7
Military service members, veterans and spouses: Military applicants may request credit for verified military education, training or service. Honourable active duty during the license period exempts a nurse from CE (on proof), and active military duty at renewal suspends the mandatory-reporter training requirement.1
