What it means

State laws give military service members, veterans and spouses who relocate on military orders faster routes to a license: expedited processing, a temporary license while the application is reviewed, or a license by endorsement. Some boards also credit military training toward their requirements. What a board offers depends on its state's law and on the license, so each entry below quotes the board for one license.

What the boards say, state by state

Boards in 48 states describe this route for at least one license we cover. A state that is not listed may still have such a law; we show only what the boards we checked publish for these licenses.
