- Apply for the license online through Sircon (Vertafore) or NIPR and pay the license fee.3 sircon.com3

Renewal
- How often
- Every 2 years2
- When it expires
- Colorado issues a perpetual producer license. It stays in effect, unless revoked or suspended, as long as you pay the continuation fee and meet CE by the due date: the last day of your birth month in the second year after the license is issued, then every other year. The Division sends a notice 90 days before the continuation month.2
- Renewal fee
- $272 (Resident continuation every two years, per authority (filed through sircon.com or nipr.com))
- Continuing education
- At least 24 hours each renewal period1
- Exemptions
- Non-residents who satisfy their home state's CE meet Colorado's requirement if the home state treats Colorado producers the same way.1
CE does not apply to holders of a limited or restricted license in good standing with no complaints.1
The Commissioner may extend the CE deadline by up to one year for good cause.1 - Late renewal
- Late renewal fee: $472 (reinstating a resident license within one year after the continuation deadline is missed: new application plus the initial license fee, per authority)
- If it expires
- If you miss the continuation deadline, the license is canceled. You can reinstate within one year by filing a new electronic application and paying the initial license fee, without repeating prelicensing (C.R.S. 10-2-202). After one year you must also complete a new prelicensing course (where required) and pass the exam again.2
